The Path to Membership

How do you begin?

• Participate in a Newcomer Orientation sessions (held each fall and spring)
• Read UU literature
• Attend Sunday services and other events

Your decision to join the UUC involves:

• Finding agreement with our Mission Statement and the Unitarian Universalist Principles.
• Becoming active in our many programs: religious growth and learning for children and adults, social events, social action, and the nuts and bolts running of the church
• Pledging your financial support of the congregation.

When you are ready to join:

• Contact the Minister or a member of the Membership Committee
• Sign the membership book, either privately or during a new member service

After you have joined

• You will be introduced on a New member Sunday and in our newsletter, The Herald
• You will meet with the Minister to submit your financial pledge and to match your interests with volunteer work for the church
• You will have a voice and a vote at our congregational meetings and in the election of officers
• Our Minister is available to you for pastoral care, counseling and life milestone ceremonies (child dedications, marriages, memorials)
